Anti-war Comment Gets Fields Censored by Fox
If Kathy Griffing telling Jesus to Suck it! was “worse than racism” to some, Sally Fields’ anti-war comments at the Emmy’s were also too much for the delicate American ears and convictions. So Fox decided cut the end of Field’s statements in its US broadcast. Here is what Fields said about the war:
“Let’s face it: If the mothers ruled the world, there would be no goddamn wars in the first place.”
The network cut the sound off starting with “goddamn” until Fields left the stage.
Thankfully, Canadians aren’t so opposed to hearing what people have to say, so her speech was broadcast in full.
What the morons in the US haven’t figured out is that there is no way on the planet you can stop this information from being shared. It’s called YouTube, LiveLeak, etc. Here is how it’s done:
What’s even crazier though is that according to a Chicago Tribune poll 55% of their readers thought the comments should have been edited out. People, where is your sense of liberty?

Plato argued that democracy eventually devolves into tyrrany. I guess we have some evidence he might be correct right here. It really disturbs me that 55% choose censorship over liberty.
There’s no mystery that your government is piss-marking everything and anything. Bad leadership results into bad policies. It’s just that simple. If we continue to elect bad leaders we’ll continue to loose liberties. So we’ve got some choices to make, not only when it comes to whom we elect, but also when it comes to how vocal we are about what we expect our country to be. If libertarians, and atheists and liberals sit back and play nice expecting things to just get better we will drown in the mass of manipulation the conservatives are pouring down on us.
Just today I read about this woman who won’t return library book on sex-ed because she thinks the book has inappropriate content. We just can’t stop books from being published or offered because we think our personal jesus tells us they’re inappropriate. People who don’t want to read “inappropriate” shouldn’t buy or borrow the book. Censor yourself all you want but don’t fuck with the intellectual potential of others.
