Interesting stuff. Regarding the New Scientist article, I wonder if most atheists today respect believers' faith and devotion to their god(s). I certainly don't, but I wonder if there are still many who do.

Nothing wrong with asking questions and opening your eyes to things we are yet to understand. I watched it last night with my family and found the themes interesting. All religion is based on ancient stories of astronomy and the movement of the sun, stars and planets. I highly recommend the internet movie Zietgeist for some very interesting facts.

I would rather have both parties pull the religious card, than only one. That way it cancels itself out.

Hey Mana, can u believe how Hillary's comeback from behind win in New Hampshire totally killed my poem. I did it for the west side which unlike the Green Mill is 100% black and got yawns and Next Please looks from the listeners.lol talk about humbling reality check dude. I still have another pro obama poem called Name Shame that still has some life but it is more serious and more about Obama's ethnic name then the candidate. so that recording of you and me basking in the glory of a well done bit is going to the ARCHIVES sistah, because Hillary killed it with her Victory in New Hampshire.lol

I think it's one of those things where we are knee deep in religious conversations during this campaign, but I think the religious discussion took this turn during the last elections. In that regard the trend is not that new. At the same time the media discourse evolves around the same themes over and over again: it's ok to have a healthy debate on religious views but it's not ok to question a candidate based on their religious views. I'm not sure how we can accomplish either without crossing into the other's territory.
