Unread America
CNN.com published an article yesterday that cites an Associated Press-Ipsos poll released Tuesday, in that 25% of American adults have not read 1 book in the past year. Let me rephrase that in case it’s not clear, 1 out of every 4 Americans didn’t read any printed books in the past year.
On top of that, half of those who said they read books in the past year averaged 4 books per year. The other half read more than 4:
The survey reveals a nation whose book readers, on the whole, can hardly be called ravenous.
Religious and fiction books are most read, however,
Those who said they never attend religious services read nearly twice as many [books] as those who attend frequently.
One response so far

Americans’ reading habits are just more evidence of our laziness, which seems to grow boundlessly. I blogged on this one, too.
